Tek Raj Koirala is a Ph.D. Scholar in International Relations at South Asian University. His research engages with the intersections of climate and environmental security, military institutions, disaster governance, and strategic narratives, with a particular focus on Nepal and South Asia.
His doctoral research examines the role of the Nepali military in addressing environmental and climate-related security challenges within evolving regional and global security frameworks.
His broader scholarly interests include post-Western strategic studies, indigenous strategic thought, and global norm diffusion. Through his work on the Nepali strategic board game Bagh Chal, disaster preparedness practices, and media narratives surrounding Nepal’s relations with India and China, he explores how local knowledge systems and smaller states engage with contemporary debates in international politics.
